Hyatt House & Hyatt Studios: Two Great Stays for Travel Nurses

Hyatt House vs Hyatt Studios Travel Nurse Housing

I first became a travel nurse in 2017.  The days where housing was incredibly hard to find, your options were quite limited.  Now, almost 10 years later, travel nurse housing is an entire business and Hyatt hotels is one that considers the travel nurse market and offers solutions (think reliable, high-amenity stays) to what can generally be a frustrating process.

In this post, I’m going to guide you through the ins and outs of staying at a Hyatt hotel, why you should choose Hyatt, and explain the differences between Hyatt House and Hyatt Studios hotels so you can choose the best option for your next stay!

Why Should You Choose Hyatt Hotels?

Before I considered Hyatt hotels as an option when on assignment, I simply knew of them as another hotel brand.  (They actually happened to be one of my favorite hotel brands!)  They are reliable, have incredible hotels from essential properties to luxury properties, and can be found all around the world.  Plus, their loyalty program – World of Hyatt (which I discuss later in this article) – is one of the best out there.  Whenever I travel, Hyatt is always the first hotel website I go to to search for stays; and as of 2026, Hyatt is in 80 countries across 6-continents, with 1,450 hotels operating.  It’s reliable, comfortable, and easily found in major cities and travel destinations around the globe.

Hyatt House

Hyatt House has over 140 locations worldwide.  After experiencing it myself (I stayed at Hyatt House Chicago West Loop-Fulton Market in Chicago), I can say that it’s the perfect extended stay for travel nurses searching for convenient and comfortable accommodations; or a “home away from home”.  Plus, Hyatt House hotels feel more like apartment-style living versus hotel living with spacious rooms, great amenities, and helpful staff.  It felt like I was staying in an upscale space which was honestly great for those stressful shifts.

Hyatt Studios

Hyatt Studios is Hyatt’s newer extended stay brand with the first hotel opening in 2025 (and is rapidly growing).  It’s the perfect option for travel nurses who are on their way to an assignment and need somewhere quick and easy to spend a night or two, or travel nurses who are just looking for a simple, longer stay.  I stayed at two different Hyatt Studios properties, one in Mobile and one in Huntsville, and can say that it’s a great, simple option with studio apartment-style suites, tons of amenities, and helpful staff.
