As a travel nurse, Fusion Marketplace has been my go-to resource for all things – travel nursing! Not only is the website beautifully designed and easy to use, but it’s incredibly functional. You can find different travel nurse companies, housing options, pay, and so much more right in one spot. The transparency offered on the website has transformed the way traveling healthcare workers are treated, negotiate, and find jobs.
Below you’ll find my favorite functions of Fusion Marketplace, making it easy to use!
The Ultimate Guide to Using Fusion Marketplace – Everything You Need to Know
Please note: Fusion Marketplace only staffs for jobs in the United States.
Filling Out a Traveler Profile
In order to take full advantage of Fusion Marketplace, I highly recommend filling out a “traveler profile”. Not only will a traveler profile save you infinite amounts of time by saving all of your information (this means that you only have to put all of your information in the database one time instead of giving it out multiple times to multiple companies). But perhaps my favorite part of the traveler profile is that companies will not use your information unless you apply for a job.
When you put your phone number and email address in the Fusion Marketplace database you won’t be receiving calls from companies unless you reach out to them first. This means – no more cold calls!
In order to fill out a traveler profile, just head to Fusion Marketplace and click “create profile” located in the top right corner.
Companies Offered on Fusion Marketplace
Another highlight of using the marketplace is that you can search for multiple different companies in one spot. At the time of writing, there are 16 different agencies that post their job openings on the website and this is rapidly growing.
When searching for jobs, you can actually see which company has a contract with the specific job you’re applying for. You can see what pay they offer, how many hours you’ll be working, etc. Then when you go to apply for the specific job you will be able to apply with the company you want to work with – talk about transparency!
Furthermore, if you scroll to the bottom of Fusion Marketplace and click “View all Agencies” under “Healthcare Agencies” you’ll be taken to a page to view each agency who has patterned with Fusion Marketplace. By clicking on the agency, you can read through all benefits offered. This way, if you see a job that you like but you aren’t familiar with the agency, you have all the tools you may want or need to make a decision in whether or not to apply for a job with that specific agency.

Read Recruiter Reviews/Rate Your Recruiter
Piggybacking off of my previous point of viewing the companies offered on Fusion Marketplace, you can also view recruiters that you may potentially be working with! One way to do this, is by scrolling to the bottom of the website, clicking “View all Agencies” under “Healthcare Agencies” picking a company to view, and then clicking “View all Recruiters”.
Not every recruiter has a review, but some do; giving you a better feel of who you may be working with. Plus at the end of your contract, you have the ability to review your recruiter so that other travel nurses can read what you have to say.
Lastly, if you see a recruiter you really seem to like or click with and want to work with them specifically, their direct email address is listed so you’ll be able to reach out to that recruiter.

Finding Housing on Fusion Marketplace
One of the more challenging things about being a travel nurse, is finding housing! (Read about my horrid experience here). But again, Fusion Marketplace has travelers best interest in mind and they actually allow you to search for housing right from the website!
When you’re using the website searching for jobs, continue to scroll down and you’ll see “nearby housing”. You can then see nearby housing options on Furnished Finder. (Please note: you may not see this for every single job, only the jobs that have housing options nearby).
Ability to Filter Your Job Search Based on Your Preferences
Some nurses travel for the money, some for a specific location, and some just for the experience! With that in mind, you can apply filters to your job search so that you only see the most relevant jobs offered – saving you tons of time when searching for the *perfect* job.
One way to do this, is to simply type what job you’re looking for into the search bar at the top left of the website. I’m a NICU nurse so I type in “NICU” and immediately all NICU jobs that are available are listed. You can also use this function to search by company so if there’s a specific company you’d like to work for you can type it into the search bar and then click “agencies”.
Furthermore, if you’ve filled out a traveler profile, you can filter your search results even more! To do this, log in, click “job preferences” and you can set your department, specialty, states, cities, shift type, and weekly pay range! You can then save these preferences and set email alerts for when jobs open up that match what you’re looking for.
Comparing Pay Packages on Fusion Marketplace
Whether you’re a new travel nurse or a seasoned travel nurse, it’s no fun to show up to an assignment and find out that you’re paid less than the other travel nurses doing the same job as you. With transparency at the core of Fusion Marketplace, you can now compare pay packages between companies that offer the same job! This is one of the most exciting features on the website as you can easily see what kind of paying is being offered across multiple different companies.

Keep Track of Your Job Applications
When you’re applying to more than one job, it can be difficult to keep track of all of your different applications. PLUS a huge red flag in travel nursing is be submitted to the same job by more than one recruiter – that’s a no, no.
Once you fill out your traveler profile and begin applying for jobs simply click on your name in the top right corner of the website, then choose “job applications” from the drop down list. Now you can view all of your archived jobs/jobs you’ve applied for.
Share Once You’re Ready to Be Contacted
Another great thing about the marketplace, (and something that was previously mentioned) is that recruiters won’t be calling you right when you put your phone number in the system. Instead, when you’re fully ready to accept a job and you’re ready for recruiters to start contacting you, you yourself can share your information (or your traveler profile) with recruiters. Until you share your profile your information will not be available to anyone. Thus limiting who will be contacting you and when people will be contacting you.
To do this, you must have a traveler profile already filled out. Click on your name in the top right hand corner of the website, and choose “profile” from the drop down menu. Once you scroll down, on the left side you’ll notice “share my information”. Once you click that your information will be ready to view.
Unlimited Travel Nurse Information on the Blog
Aside from all of the great features mentioned above, Fusion Marketplace also has their own blog with tons of information and resources on travel nursing. You can find anything you could possibly want to know about travel nursing including hot destinations to travel to, money tips and tricks, apps for travel nurses, and so much more.
Fusion Marketplace is Available as an App
Lastly, Fusion Marketplace is also available as an app! You can use all of the functions mentioned above straight from your phone in app form. (Click here to download on Google Play; click here to download in the App Store).
As you can tell, Fusion Marketplace has thought of everything when it comes to transparency in travel nursing. By searching through different pay packages, choosing the company you want to work with, reading recruiter reviews, and so much more – it’s never been easier to be a travel nurse. I urge you to fill out a traveler profile and begin your dreams of becoming a travel nurse today!

Pin Me!
Kylee, thank you for creating this site and giving me an opportunity to reach out to you. Our company Yang Enterprises won a 10-year contract with the US Space Force on Ascencion Island, which is located in the South Atlantic some 5126 miles from Orlando Florida.
I am not sure if you ever recommend that traveling nurses or other medical personnel like certified paramedics work directly with a company rather than through an agency. If you do this, how would you like to proceed to obtain the details of the job opportunities and benefits package we are offering.
