4 of the Best Coffee Shops in Scottsdale

4 of the Best Coffee Shops in Scottsdale

I spent three months exploring the ins and outs of Scottsdale, Arizona while I was on an assignment as a travel nurse.  Seeing as nurses having four days off a week, besides laying by the pool, I spent the majority of my time in Scottsdale lazily moving from one coffee shop to the next.  Judging the “best” off of the quality of coffee, but mostly the atmosphere of the coffee shop.  And while I visited multiple coffee shops, these are the only four to make the list.  The four best coffee shops in Scottsdale.

Best Coffee Shops in Scottsdale, Arizona

Fourtillfour Coffee

Beginning the list at number one, Fourtillfour Coffee is my favorite place to grab a cup of coffee in Scottsdale.  For its unique atmosphere (in an old garage), it’s also unique in that it oftentimes draws crowds of car enthusiasts.  Fourtillfour was created to bring together people who live for adventure and vintage cars.  Although the shop is small, seating is limited, and the hours aren’t great; Fourtillfour is worth checking out.

Hours of operation:  Sunday-Saturday 7 am-2 pm

Address:  7105 E 1st Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Sip Coffee and Beer

There is a place that exists where you can get coffee, beer, and wine all in one spot!  That place is Sip Coffee and Beer located in the heart of Scottsdale!  Not only does Sip offer both coffee and cocktails, but it has a great outdoor patio, oftentimes has live music, and sits across the street from Goldwater Brewery if you fancy a flight after your coffee.  A lively and brightly lit spot, it’s the perfect place to play catch up with friends.

Hours of operation:  Wednesday-Monday 7 am-9 pm; Tuesday 7 am-10 pm.

Address:  3617 N Goldwater Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Maverick Coffee

From the outside, Maverick Coffee first appears as a hole in the wall.  But step inside and you’ll notice how the space seems to have transformed into a spacious and hip coffee house serving tea, savory and sweet treats, and more.  While it wouldn’t be my first choice if I was choosing to be productive, Maverick has a lot of energy and an upbeat atmosphere.  Leaning towards the loud side, it’s the perfect place to grab a friend and hang out and chat while sipping on coffee.

Hours of operation:  Monday-Friday 630am-5pm; Saturday-Sunday 7am-5pm

Address:  10269 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85253

Altitude Coffee Lab

In a rustic setting, Altitude Coffee Lab not only has the quality atmosphere I look for… but they also serve great coffee.  Not a stand-alone coffee shop, you’ll find Altitude Mercado Del Lago Mall complex.  While a majority of the seating is indoors, there’s also a small patio if you dare brave the Arizona heat.  Head here if you are looking for a quieter and casual atmosphere (with wifi), in order to get work done.

While there are many more than four Scottsdale coffee shops, once I discovered these four I continued to return.  And while the coffee in Scottsdale isn’t as well known as it is in some cities (like Seattle)… the coffee scene is still worth checking out.
