The Best Hotels in Omaha, Nebraska

best hotels in Omaha

As an Omaha, Nebraska native – I’ve watched the city grow and expand during my 18 years of growing up in Omaha.  Even now when I go back to visit my family, there is always something new.  A new restaurant, a new bar, a new movie theatre, a new hotel.  It seems that Omaha continues to grow and expand which makes me happy – but also nostalgic for the years I was in high school and my high school was in the middle of a corn field.  All this to say, I know Omaha through and through; I’ve watched it expand, and I definitely know the best hotels in Omaha.  So whether you’re visiting Omaha for a weekend away or you’re visiting Omaha for the college World Series, these are the hotels I’d recommend.  (Please note:  Omaha has tons of chain hotels like Best Western, Hilton, etc.  While I included a few chain hotels; I tried to include more boutique style hotels which is why this list is relatively short).

Element Omaha Midtown Crossing

Westin | 3* | 132 rooms | Neighborhood:  Midtown

I love Midtown crossing because it’s a great, central area in Omaha with tons of things to do nearby.  That’s why staying at Element would be a great option whether it’s your first or third trip to Omaha.  This hotel is pretty basic with your standard amenities.  However, you can also expect a fitness center, bike rentals, and the ability to bring your dog (extra $30/night).

EVEN Hotel Omaha Downtown – Old Market

IHG Hotel | 3* | 132 rooms | Neighborhood:  Old Market

Another pretty basic hotel, but in a great location, would be EVEN Hotel.  The Old Market is one of my favorite areas in Omaha with its cobblestone streets, horse-driven carriages, and quaint bars and restaurants.  Aside from your basic amenities, you can also find a fitness center and pool here.  Plus there is complimentary shuttle service to popular spots in downtown Omaha.

Hotel Deco

Boutique | 4* | 89 rooms | Neighborhood:  Downtown

Hotel Deco is a boutique hotel in Downtown Omaha.  It’s just steps away from the Orpheum Theater and has one of the best restaurants in Omaha – The Monarch.  The hotel has also won prestigious awards such as Best Hotel in Omaha 2023.  It’s a great option if you’re looking for a more luxury stay, and they allow pets at an extra charge.

Hotel Indigo – Omaha Downtown

IHG Hotel | 3.5* | 90 rooms | Neighborhood:  Downtown

I generally really like Hotel Indigo properties for their funky and unique decor and Hotel Indigo in Omaha is no exception.  With your standard hotel amenities, Hotel Indigo also has a fitness center, option for dogs ($35 extra/day), and the option for bike rental.  The location of the hotel is near the Missouri River, which splits Iowa and Nebraska and you’re within driving distance of many great attractions in Omaha.

Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel

IHG Hotel | 4* | 205 rooms | Neighborhood:  Blackstone District

I will say it upfront – Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel is my favorite hotel in Omaha.  It is in a fun neighborhood, it has great amenities, but it is one of the more expensive hotels in Omaha.  To start, the Blackstone District is a fun, young, and hip neighborhood.  You will need a car in this area if you want to see other areas of Omaha, but if you’re only in town for one or two days and don’t plan to wander much, there are plenty of bars and restaurants walking distance from the hotel.  As far the hotel itself, it has pretty much any amenity you could need.  An outdoor pool, fitness center, and three on-site bars and restaurants.

Magnolia Hotel Omaha

Boutique | 4* | 145 rooms | Neighborhood:  Downtown

Another one of my favorite hotels in Omaha (and a close second to Kimpton Cottonwood) is Magnolia Hotel.  In fact, rumor has it that it’s the hotel that big celebrities stay at when performing in Omaha.  The hotel stands in what was once a Court Building in 1923.  In 1974, it joined the National Places of Historic Places.  The rooms at Magnolia are beautiful and you can expect basic amenities.  There is not a pool or fitness center at this hotel.

The Farnam

Marriott Bonvoy | 4* | 120 rooms | Neighborhood:  Downtown

As part of the Marriott properties, The Farnam is a great, trustworthy hotel to stay at in Downtown Omaha.  At The Farnam you can expect a cocktail bar, coffee shop, and fitness center along with other basic amenities.  The space has been beautifully designed and is a good option for those looking for a more elevated downtown experience.

The Peregrine Omaha Downtown

Hilton | 4* | 89 rooms | Neighborhood:  Downtown

The Peregrine is another great hotel in Downtown Omaha that has beautiful decor, a fitness center, and on-site dining.  In the warmer months, you can enjoy cocktails on the rooftop or eat at the on-site restaurant The Habitat.  And like a lot of the other hotels in Omaha, you can also bring pets (for a fee) at The Peregrine.

I have a beautiful Townhome in the Pueblo, Colorado vicinity for lease. It’s an easy commute to Colorado Springs and the surrounding area located right off I-25 and Hwy 50. It’s in a gated community with amenities, such as a swimming pool, exercise room, clubhouse with kitchenette, mature landscaping, lovely 2 bedrooms, (master bedroom is a suite), 2.5 baths, large 2 car garage.
