The Best Dessert Places in Seattle

Never one to shy away from sugary, chocolatey, ooey-gooey anything; I have developed quite the sweet tooth through my years.  This is why when I moved to Seattle I made it my mission to find the best dessert places in Seattle for my sugar fix.  And while most people associate Seattle with the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, or even hiking and mountains… when I think of Seattle I think of the incredible food.  So when I moved to Seattle my quest to find the best desserts in Seattle ensued.

 

Hot Cakes

Locations:  Ballard, Capitol Hill

Hot Cakes Seattle is a full-blown molten chocolate cakery shop.  It’s the go-to spot for a late-night dessert in Seattle, serving a multitude of different variations on the original chocolate molten cake, Hot Cakes has branched out into other desserts as well.  Now you can get a variety of different cookies, brownies, and boozy milkshakes.  Items are always changing, but one thing remains certain.  The flavor and love poured into each hot cake don’t vary.

 

Bakery Nouveau

Locations:  Burien, Capitol Hill, West Seattle

Although Bakery Nouveau is not a full-blown dessert bar, you can still find many items that will curb your sugar craving.  Thanks to the flaky chocolate stuff croissants, pristine-looking cheesecakes, and macarons lining the shelves, Bakery Nouveau has made my list of best Seattle sweets in town.  But be prepared to wait for your desserts.  Even in off-hours, it seems that Bakery Nouveau collects quite the mass of people.  But trust me, the wait is worth it.

 

indi chocolate

Location:  Pike Place Market

indi chocolate is a casual bakery that works directly with cacao farmers around the world to make small batch, single origin, dark chocolate.  indi chocolate is ranked in the top 24 best chocolate shops in America and in my opinion, they have an especially delicious chocolate chip cookie.

 

Frankie and Jo’s Ice Cream

Locations:  Ballard, Capitol Hill, University Village

Serving an array of plant-based ice creams, Frankie and Jo’s is not only one of the best vegan ice creameries in Seattle, but one of the best ice cream shops in Seattle.  You would never know by taste, but these sweet and creamy scoops of ice cream are 100% vegan.  While Frankie and Jo’s is working to change the way we think about ice cream, with ice cream made from non-dairy items, I’d say that they’ve succeeded.  Another perk?  They offer total transparency with all ingredients used listed on the menu.

 

Lady Yum

Location:  Amazon Seattle Campus, Bellevue, Kirkland, Pioneer Square, Totum Lake, Sea-Tac Airport

Specializing in macarons and champagne, Lady Yum is perfectly designed for an epic girl’s day out.  While the staple flavors are regular items on the menu, they also have a list of rotating flavors coming and going.  No matter which you choose, these little bites of heaven are melt in your mouth delicious.  Order a set of macarons and champagne, sit back, relax, and enjoy the magical atmosphere that Lady Yum has crafted.

 

Hellenika Cultured Creamery

Location:  Pike Place Market

Hellenika Cultured Creamy is hands down, some of the best ice cream I’ve ever eaten.  (To be fully transparent, it’s not really ice cream but I’m not sure what to call it because I’ve never tasted anything like it).  Hellenika is family owned and the three siblings that started it have Greek roots, were raised in Australia, and now live in Seattle.

 

General Porpoise

Location:  Amazon Spheres, Pioneer Square

Serving ooey-gooey fried bites of doughy heaven, General Porpoise has dominated the donut game in Seattle.  General Porpoise has crafted unique, one-of-a-kind donuts, stuffed with seasonal fillings, that can’t be missed.  As a bonus, they also serve fresh-made roasted coffee.  Coffee and donuts…. is there a better pairing?

 

Rosselini’s Fine Cakes & Baked Goods

Location:  Ballard

Rossellini’s is an incredible bakery that mainly focuses on French baked goods and pastries, while more recently incorporating Italian pastries into the mix as well.  While the bakery focuses largely on savory goods, there are incredible sweets waiting to be ordered too.  The most popular item on the menu is the kouign amann – a sugary, breaded treat with flakey sea salt.  It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory!
