15 of the Best Hotels in Le Marais, Paris

the best hotels in Le Marais Paris

Paris is my favorite city in the world and in Paris, Le Marais is my favorite neighborhood.  (Which probably makes Le Marais my favorite neighborhood in the world?).  The Marais is full of character, charm, it’s energetic with bars, restaurants, boutique shopping.  You get all of the charm of Paris in a small neighborhood, it’s hard not to love.  And while I would recommend venturing out and exploring other parts of Paris, you really have everything you could possibly need in Le Marais.  After visiting Paris 10+ times, these are my top recommendations for the best hotels in Le Marais.

This guide will showcase boutique hotels in Le Marais for all budgets.  Overall, Paris can be an expensive city to visit (especially if you’re visiting in the summer in peak tourist season) so prices do vary based on when you’re traveling.  (In past experience, I’ve saved hundreds of dollars on hotels visiting in the winter months versus the summer months).  However, I’ve tried to be as inclusive as possible in this list giving options to everyone across any budget; but keep in mind that prices still might shock you (I know they shocked me).

Is Le Marais a Good Place to Stay?

In my opinion, not only is Le Marais a good place to stay, it might be the best place to stay in Paris.  Its central, you can walk to many attractions, and it’s well connected by the metro.  As I mentioned earlier, there are so many bars and restaurants in the Marais that you don’t even really need to leave the neighborhood (although I wouldn’t recommend that).  If you need more convincing, check out my neighborhood guide to Le Marais here!

Pro tip:  If you want to send like a true Parisian, instead of saying “neighborhood”, use the term “arrondissement”.  In Paris, you would say that Le Marais is in the “third arrondissement” or you can tell a local that you’re “staying in the third”.  (Le Marais also extends into the fourth arrondissement, but is better known as “the third”).

FAQ

Q:  “Is Le Marais worth seeing?”

  • A:  Absolutely!  Le Marais is one of the most fun, vibrant, and beautiful neighborhoods in Paris.  Even if you decide to stay in a different area, I would definitely plan to spend some time exploring this part of Paris.

Q:  “Is Le Marais expensive?”

  • A:  Just like everywhere in Paris you can find things that are expensive and more affordable.  Because this is one of the more popular parts of Paris, and sees a lot of tourists, I would say it leans more towards the expensive side than the cheap side.

Q:  “Why is the Marais so popular?

  • A:  For starters, the Marais is located in the heart of Paris, and is easily connected to the main sights of Paris while still retaining a charming, neighborhood feel.  Another reason for its popularity is that the Marais has magnificent architecture and a rich history.  Here you’ll find 17th-century private mansions, large entrances through which horse-drawn carriages can easily pass, and because its the old Jewish quarter, you’ll also find kosher delis and bakeries.
